The time has come!
This month’s color is Classic Cameo, a wonderful muted color that blends well with the previous months colors. What’s happening in this month’s kit?
This month we are working with our featured color J as well as colors D, G and I. We are adding the Side Section 4 as well as making Stripe 16, and we finally start to assemble our blanket. I’ve been itching to get this blanket assembled and get a picture of what our final destination will look like.
My tips for Kit #10
Make sure you’re working with the correct sides facing when assembling or working new sections… lots of them look very similar on the right and wrong side. I learnt the hard way and had to redo the bobbles on Kit 9 and assembled the wrong and right side facing for my 2 sections.
Side Section 4 - Using Color I, we are going to work into Side Section 2. Highly recommend to divide in 8 sections as instructed to save yourself some time frogging a bunch when you end up a few stitches off. This section is fun to work and is loaded with colors and texture. Blocked measurements Side Section 4 - 40” in length and 3” in width. (Total width of Side Section now measures 5”.)
Stripe 16 - Basket Weave stitch using Color J, attached to stripe 11. You’ll be working in the horizontal back bar (third loop) to start row 1, the next rows are front and back post double crochets. The Basket weave is so pretty and I really would love an entire blanket made with this stitch. Blocked measurements Stripe 16 - 24” in length and 3” in width. (Total width of Stripe section now measures approx. 19”.)
Get ready to assemble!
With RIGHT SIDES facing up on both pieces, using color I, we join Stripe 16 to Stripe 2 of Kit #1 with a slip stitch. Fast and simple and you get to admire your 10 months worth of crocheting.
Finishing touches - Well, another kit is complete and it’s time to weave in those ends and block your pieces to the finished measurements. We don’t have a lot of remaining yarn at this point and luckily I didn’t run out of any of the colors.
