So far so good!
This month’s color is Pool Party, and even though the weather is cooling off this color is making quite a splash! What’s happening in this month’s kit?
This month we are working with our featured color I as well as colors A, B, D, E, F and G. We are adding to one of the Side Sections as well as making our 2nd Corner Block and Stripe 15! Again, the pattern has a note that we could run out of the suggested colors and should be prepared to swap colors if need be. I really wish that the pattern would let us know if there are any colors that we are done using and we could use those when we are short of a specific color. So far I haven’t run out of any color but I feel its just a matter of time LOL!
My tips for Kit #9
I can’t be the only one that has to reference the previous patterns to figure out what I’m doing and where…
Side Section 3 - Using Color I, we are going to work some Mosaic Crochet which is one of my favourite techniques. This is worked into the previous Side Section 1. I noticed that Rows 11-12 has a typo and you should fasten off Color E and not Color F as mentioned.
Blocked measurements Side Section 3 - 40” in length and 3” in width. (Total width of Side Section now measures 5”.)
Stripe 15 - Using Color I, it’s time for some bobbles. These are fun and easy to make and with only 5 rows to complete this section it works up nice and fast. You will crochet into Stripe 13 that we made in Kit #7 (Star Stitch).
Blocked measurements Stripe 15 - 24” in length and 2” in width. (Total width of Stripe section now measures 17.25”.)
Our 2nd Corner Block!
Corner Block 2 - For this 2nd Corner Block, we will be using several colors beginning with color A, then adding colors I, B, G and D. My handy little tip I shared a few months back is really coming in handy, switching colors and knowing what color corresponds to what letter is a real time saver. This block is similar to the Corner Block we made in Kit #8 so nothing new with this one. And, guess what?? I didn’t run out of yarn for any of the suggested colors, and I hope you don’t either. Blocked measurement is 5” square.
Finishing touches - Well, another kit is complete and it’s time to weave in those ends and block your pieces to the finished measurements. Save the remaining yarn for future stripes or blocks. At this point, I would really like to know if we are done with any of the colors. Seeing that some colors don’t have much yarn leftover, and especially for those who might of had to swap colors, will that mean we run the risk of running out of that color if needed for future stripes or blocks!
