The end is near!

This month’s color is Ice See Ewe, a gorgeous blue hue that is simply delicious! What’s happening in this month’s kit?

This month we are working with our featured color K as well as colors D, E, F, G and I. We are adding to our Stripe Section as well as adding to both Side Sections. Finally we get a glimpse of what our finished product will look like.

My tips for Kit #11

This month’s kit was pretty straight forward, however there are a few new stitches to keep us excited!

Stripe 17 - Using Color K, we are going to work into Stripe 15, that’s the stripe with the gorgeous bobbles. The Iris stitch is such beautiful stitch and easy to work. I did however, need to be mindful of my tension with this one even though I was using a 4mm hook. Blocked measurement of Stripe 17 - 24” in length and 2” in width.

Corner Blocks 3 & 4 - These corner blocks is worked as the other 2 corner blocks were worked, just using a different combination of colors. Again remember that you can substitute a different yarn color if you’ve run out of the suggested colors. I was lucky and haven’t run out of any yarn yet! Blocked measurements of Corner Blocks are 5” square.

Next up.. a little assembly time!

We start by joining the Corner Blocks 1 & 4 to the short ends of Side Sections 2 and 4, and join Corner Blocks 2 & 3 to the short ends of Side Sections 1 and 3. The schematic is very helpful in figuring out what goes where.

Side Section 5 - Using color K, we are working along the side of Corner Block 3, Side Section 3 and Corner Block 2. Rows 1 - 4 will have us working into the horizontal back bars and creating fun bead stitches. This one is done in no time!

Side Section 6 - Again using color K, we are working along the side of Corner Block 4 , Side Section 4, and Corner Block 1. We are using the same stitch pattern as in Side Section 5. The diagram is helpful, showing you where to start crocheting.

Finishing touches - Well, another kit is complete and it’s time to weave in those ends and block your pieces to the finished measurements. We don’t have a lot of remaining yarn at this point and I consider myself extremely luckily that I haven’t run out of any of the colors.

The Club is now closed.
