Kit 2 - The Road Trip Blanket: Jimmy Beans Blanket Club
Kit #2 - Color B is Toasted Marshmallow!! Beanstalk yarn has a nice sheen to it.
This is the Beachy Keen color pallete, we started at the top with Sage Advice in Kit #1 and are now moving onto the 2nd color in Kit #2.
The 2025 Blanket Club is going strong!
Kit #1 was a great introduction to the blanket club, however, this month’s kit has us getting right down to business!
What’s happening in this month’s Kit?
This month we are adding to the stripes and block we made in the previous month. Color B for the Beachy Keen version isToasted Marshmallow and it is absolutely delicious. I can’t even describe how good it looks paired with Color A - Sage Advice.
My tips for Kit #2
Not to sound like a broken record… SWATCH SWATCH SWATCH!
It’s also a good idea to have last month’s patterns close by so you can reference them if and when needed.
Stripe 3 - We are working into the stitches from Stripe 1 with some fancy FPtr stitches to create a lovely slanted texture. Caution at Row 2, make sure you’re working in the horizontal front bar - 3rd loop, of each hdc. When blocked Stripe 3 should measure 24” in length and 5.25” in width. (This includes the 3” from Stripe 1)
Stripe 4 - We are working into the stitches from Stripe 2. This one works up quickly with only 4 rows. 2 rows of Pebble Stitch, which are super fun to make, and the other 2 rows are single crochet. When blocked Stripe 4 should measure 24” in length and 3.25” in width. (This includes the 2.25” from Stripe 2)
Block 1 continued - We are adding to the quick 5 round block that we made in Kit #1. This one is just 2 rows, however, I suggest watching the video so you know where to place the tr BLO in sk sc of round 3. Or you can be like me and forget which was row 3 from the previous months instructions and have to read the instructions over 3 times to figure it out.. LOL!! Blocked measurement is 5” square.
Block 2 - This block starts off with a Magic Circle and it’s easy peasy. We make a fairly basic square using single & half double crochets. Not so quick though, just when you think you’re done you have to grab Color A from last month’s kit and make lovely flower petals in the centre of your square. Blocked measurement is 5” square.
We’re not finished yet…there’s still more work to be done!
Block 3 - We use that great puff stitch again, it’s a fun 4 row block which is to be continued!! Blocked measurement is 4” square.
Block 4 - This fun little 4 round circle has clusters of single crochet stitches which will be continued in a future kit. Blocked measurement is 2.75”
Finishing touches - Weave in those ends, block pieces to finished measurements. Don’t forget to save the remaining yarn for future stripes or blocks.
Having some FOMO? have no fear…
